I first worked with Graeme back in 2001/2, when I worked as the CEO, but also as a business turnaround manager for a well known wine estate in Constantia. Although our contact was limited to small scale projects, Graeme impressed me with his agreeable approach to open ended projects and with the quality of his work. When in later years I was responsible for developing a new wine estate in the Somerset West/Schaapenberg area, I had no hesitation to bring Graeme on board (2007/8) to be the preferred service provider for all our photographic needs (website, brochures, Point of Sale etc).

Once again his value was not only in his professional skills as a photographer, but also in his ability to grasp the essence of the project and then really applying himself to get it 100% right.  Another advantage was his established working relationship with other role-players such as the website developers. This assisted with the interactive process between different professional on the project.  

After  joining Boland Vineyards International in 2008, I  managed a rebranding and repositioning exercise for the Boland Brand. For us it was important to illustrate the concept of the Boland Brand being an expression of regionality, complemented by the five different  mesoclimatic areas in the region. What better way to illustrate this by inviting Graeme to assist us with his photography.  In this case we needed to illustrate the climatic variety visually in a way that would make instinctive sense to both consumer and wine professional.

I think we managed to communicate this potentially confusing message in a very simple way that appealed to all. We would recommend him to everyone that not only requires a skilled professional photographer, but also wants to work with someone that buys into the creative thinking behind a brand or a project and will be fair and equitable in open ended projects.
